Samin and Me.

I was recently gifted by a very good friend a copy of SALT FAT ACID HEAT, for christmas and let me tell you just from reading the foreward I was blown away. Author Samin Nosrat is a lady after my own heart, following flavor throughout her life. Of coffee complexion herself, I decided that it would be very on brand to not only read and review her book but cook through it. Ten years ago the my culinary shero came on screen, portrayed by the cinematic powerhouse Meryl Streep! Julie and Julia was a movie, based on a book, based on a blog where a novice cook, Julie Powers cooks her way through Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

Now this text is scared in my world and I even may have 'borrowed' an old copy from a culinary library of my youth. As I pursue Samin's prose and envision her culinary career I am inspired and think about my career. I'll admit that I miss professional cooking and this challenge not only is apt for my current projects and passions, but will reinvigorate my chef sensibilities. I am excited and I will keep you posted, but pick up a copy of SFAH it is 17 years worth of culinary excellence.
